Information

March 24th is designated as World Tuberculosis Day, aimed at raising global awareness of tuberculosis(TB) and continuously improving public health consciousness to end the TB epidemic. TB is one of the world's deadliest infectious diseases. According to WHO data, 1.5 million people die from TB each year. Early detection, diagnosis, and cutting off transmission pathways are crucial to ending it.

Understanding TB symptoms and early diagnostic methods is important. TB is a chronic respiratory infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis and can occur in any part of the body, with the most common occurrence in the lungs. It spreads through the air when infected individuals cough, sneeze, or spit.

TB can present as a latent infection, often without symptoms, or as an active disease. Symptoms of active TB include persistent cough, chest pain, fatigue, fever, night sweats, unexplained weight loss, appetite loss, and shortness of breath. While those with latent TB are usually asymptomatic and non-contagious, those with active TB can transmit the disease to others.

As active TB symptoms are nonspecific and easily confused with other respiratory diseases such as colds and pneumonia, patients are often overlooked or misdiagnosed when these symptoms occur. Therefore, early, rapid, and accurate diagnostic tools are crucial.

As accurate as lab PCR, Pluslife's Next-Generation Molecular POCT Solution offers a broader and more economical diagnostic solution for TB. It fills the gap in accurate diagnosis and treatment of TB in areas with high TB rates but limited resources. Pluslife's TB testing products support both sputum and tongue swab sample types. Tongue swab sample testing can bypass the complexity of sputum handling and reduce costs, making it more convenient for children and HIV patients who find it difficult to collect sputum samples. It can meet the application needs of various scenarios such as clinical diagnosis and screening of TB.

Pluslife is dedicated to advancing TB NAAT technologies and collaborating with NGOs to make contributions towards ending the TB epidemic. Through united efforts and Pluslifes innovative molecular POCT solutions, we can take decisive steps towards a TB-free world.
