Study Update: MiniDock MTB Performance in Cameroon
A new multi-center study in Cameroon reports that the Pluslife MiniDock MTB Test enables accurate, field-ready molecular TB testing in real-world settings.
-
High diagnostic accuracy: 86% sensitivity on swabbed sputum (95% CI: 79–91) and 76% on tongue swabs (95% CI: 68–82), both with ≥98% specificity, meeting WHO TPP thresholds as reported in the study for near-POC TB diagnostics.
-
Self-collected samples work: Tongue swab sensitivity for self-collected samples reached 75% (95% CI: 66–82), comparable to 80% (95% CI: 59–92) for samples collected by healthcare workers. Sampling adherence was 99.9%.
-
Designed for the field: Study-reported compatibility with solar power, enabling near-POC TB testing in low-resource settings.
We are proud to contribute to public health by bringing molecular accuracy closer to communities, and we thank the Cameroon teams and partners for their rigorous work and collaboration.
